The One Thing You MUST Take With Your Thanksgiving Feast

Posted by BioActive Nutrients on 14th Nov 2016

Confession time: I indulge on Thanksgiving. As much as I normally collect health-friendly recipes for every menu item, I don’t even try to control it for this holiday. We go to at least three different family gatherings on Thanksgiving week, and we neither going to depend on anyone there to have made “stevia-sweetened pumpkin pie”, nor are we going to be rude and refuse to eat what our loved ones took time to prepare for us.

In short, it’s only once per year; I’m going to dig in!
But being that it’s only once per year, I’ll be eating WAY more than I’m used to. This means that the risk for bloat and belt-loosening is way higher than usual.
Which is why I’m going to take digestive enzymes with me. Your body makes digestive enzymes to break down fats, protein, and carbohydrates from the food you eat. But most people have reduced enzyme production as they age. Moreover, most people aren’t used to eating a Thanksgiving-sized feast every single day. (At least I hope not!)
This is where digestive enzymes come in.
I like a few different things about BioActive Nutrients’ Digestive Enzymes, over and above how affordable they are. First, they have all the broad enzymes we need to break down the widest range of foods. Aunt Helen’s Cranberry Surprise or Uncle Joe’s Special Stuffing will be no match for these enzymes. They can handle anything.
It also contains Betaine HCL, which is the nutritional form of hydrochloric acid. This is the first thing that begins breaking up food into its component parts. Despite people having indigestion and GERD, this is usually because of a lack of stomach acid rather than too much. (I know, that’s a weird one. But it’s true. For more information, read Why Stomach Acid Is Good For You by Dr Jonathan Wright.) I’m so glad Guy Evans included Betaine in his formula. It made a good formula, great.
It also has a little peppermint leaf in the formula. Peppermint has long been used to ease the tummy of gas and bloating (or over-eating?). It’s a nice way to top off a digestive health supplement.
I’m not stingy when I take Digestive Enzymes. I’ll do four with every meal on Thanksgiving, just as I’m starting to eat. I’m determined not to let seconds and third helpings beat up my tummy. I have to be able to move for the family football game, after all! Digestive Enzymes are super safe. There’s no point in taking them on an empty stomach, though. Take them with meals for maximum effect.
So, in this season of gratitude, enjoy the feasting. And let Digestive Enzymes help.
